I can't believe it has been eight years already. Although it is only the 21st here, it is the 22nd in Australia so I thought I would leave my message today. Michael, please know that you are, as always, in my heart and your music lives in my soul. As your candle burns tonight in my home, may your soul soar across the heaven knowing that you are not forgotten and are always loved. Rest in peace, May God hold you in his hands and may you know true peace at last.

I wish that I had known that this site existed years ago. I would have made a point to visit before now.
I still weep openly when hearing Michael's very name - the true mark of an artist. Music that truly touches one heart and soul accompanied by a presence that was unfortunately too big for this world - this is how I choose to remember Michael. His art, voice and the beauty of his existence must be remembered and recalled in order to inspire us to live life out loud.
As I stand on the verge of creating a magazine that honors the best of lifestyle, art, fashion and music, I commit to those who loved him to never forget this beautiful man who passed through our lives and to never let his death tears us apart.
Michael, I look forward to meeting you next time around, although I never knew you personally. If only to hear your voice in heaven, the artist souls will know rest.

I remember the moment they announced his untimely death, I was so heartbroken. He and the boys touched my heart with their music. My husband were going through some tough times at the time. If it weren't for the music I don't think I would've had the strength to continue working to keep us together. We have been married for 21 years now. The music of INXS was the one thing that help me express my thoughts to my husband in a way that I could not have conveyed on my own. I was so thankful for the music that you gave us. I felt so connected to the band for that!!!

Shortly after posting my remembrances, I stepped outside and witnessed the entire morning sky, filled with honking geese, flying south for the winter, and honking gleefully. Somehow, this is meaningful...hopefully as a sign of peace in the world for our children and future generations. We love you, Michael. Rest in peace...

Michael has one of the greatest voices and no one could of made INXS what they are without him.He is and forever will be missed, but his legacy and knowledge of his musical talent will always be here. I speak in present tense b/c he is spiritually everywhere his voice will always be heard. He's a unique one.
As the 8th anniversary of your departure from this world approaches, I will never forget your inspirational music and will continue to learn from it always. My 9 yr. old son (same age as Tiger Lilly!) enjoys your music and knows all the words! You've inspired more than one generation. Rest in peace...

10 long yrs since my dad passed yesterday-got thru that somehow..i hope to make it to the Darlo get together tomorrow night..seems sooo much longer than 8yrs since we all heard the unbelievable news of Michael's passing. The end of the poem Tina read at his funeral keeps me strong...'do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there & did not die'
