A lot of music around, a lot of bands ... but you are the best.
I know that big bands have always big frontmen, but who can be compared to you?
Even after all these years, very very few have your talent and your charisma. You were made for beeing adored, and that's what we still do.
Big man, on stage and in everyday life, lucky who had the pleasure to meet you, even for a moment.
Always my shining and brightest star, love, F.

i had another dream about you michael...all i remember is water and sunshine and your laugh. i've never heard your laugh before in person, but i'm pretty sure in my dream it was close to what it sounded like in real life. it was hearty and playful, full of life and mischief...i just loved hearing it.

Couldnt have asked for a better pressie. You dangling your hair on stage and singing sweetly. For my birthday this year i had a fancy dress party and you could come as anything that had inxs intials. We listened to your music all night. Wasnt the same but it was great to have you with me again on my bday.

Its hard to put in words the extent of just how much i have been touched by Michael. I have been a “fan” since the early eighties. On his final tour of the UK, I couldn't make a local gig but i did travel to Glasgow Barrowlands June '97 where i arrived early and was first in the queue. I couldn't belive my luck when a doorman informed me and a few other fans that the band where about to leave the venue (post sound check). We duly ran round the building and were not disappointed. The band were very gracious signing autographs and talking with us. Micheal discreatly walked at the back of the crowd to the tour bus.. I called out “Mike..” he turned, smiled, walked over and signed my ticket.. I was totally star struck and desperately wanted to strike up a conversation about TigerLily for instance but words failed me. He turned and walked away. My moment had passed. The gig was amazing and I had seen the last of my hero. But he will always remain .. my hero, my inspiration. Peace

I have adored INXS and Michael since I was a small child. My dad worked on the Kick tour so I grew up listening to the music and appreciating the art and sound. Though I did not know Michael personally I felt some kind of connection with him, maybe through my dad, mostly through the music. He is still greatly missed and honored, at least in my home. I drew a picture of Michael for my high school art class, it was the only thing I was proud of in that class and unfortunately it was lost in the shuffle of grading it and us graduating, but I'm sure it's still out there somewhere just like Michael is. ^_^ my hearts and prayers have always been and will always be with his family, friends, and loved ones.

I work at an Open Door School called “last chance saloon” by some. It's true that people here are seekers. They lost their way and by going back to school, it's like backtracking to a time when things made sense, when there was some predictability. Kind of like...“where was I again...?”.
I am here to provide support, that's my job. It's wonderful to watch people find themselves again, it's a privledge at times. Many of my students suffer from bipolar/manic depression. They are like Michael, brilliant, exciting, incredibly passionate but when they are in pain there is none other like it.
Recently one of my guys was almost stabbed to death. He believes now that he was spared for a reason. His heart stopped twice on the table. He said “I think God spared me because I am supposed to talk to the kids about my life.” (He is 34 now)
I have grown attached to a line in “never tear us apart”...it seems to suit my guys..“all of us have wings.....some of us just don't know why”.
My job is to help them find their wings....it's a beautiful moment when it happens.
Thanks for the Wings

What a wonderful tribute site to a dynamic and handsome young man who left this world too soon. Michael was a lucky man to have such a wonderful family!

It's great that there is a site dedicated to preserving Michael's memory. The music that he and the rest of the guys from INXS gave us during the 80s were some of the real signature songs of that decade. His passing was truly a sad and tragic loss. May he rest in peace.
