I feel although I never knew Michael Hutchence and with only the knowledge of his music, I (a boy of 18 yrs and yet another musician) can relate to him. His music speaks volumes to my teenage rock based, hormonal musical drive and taste. I feel his music and spirit will exist beyond my years and he will belong and be remembered along with the greats, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain etc

This is my 6 monthly visit to this site. It always brings a tear to my eyes. Why Michael, why? As I listen to my favourite song, By my side, I am completely overtaken by grief! I will always love my Michael, rest in peace beautiful one. Thank-you to the Hutchence family for a wonderful site.

Dear Michael,
Thank you for bringing so much joy into my life through your talent and gift of music. So many songs stir so many different feelings inside me. I truly miss you, I wish I could have met you. At least when I see photos of Tiger I can see you clearly in her beautiful, deep eyes. You not only left the world with your wonderful music but a beautiful daughter. May you rest in peace. I have trouble finding the words to express the deep sadness I feel when I think about Michael. I've been a fan ever since Shabooh Shoobah was relased in the United States in the early 80's. INXS posters adorned the walls of my bedroom all through high school, and although all of the posters eventually came down as I grew into a young woman and started college, I never stopped being a fan and I never stopped listening to their music. In fact, disc two if the anthology is in the CD player of my car right now.

I don't have a lot of regrets in my life, but one I do have is that I never saw INXS in concert. I have a silly 10 row rule. I don't go to any concerts unless I can sit within the first ten rows. Usually this is not a problem; I just pay extra and go through a ticket agency if I have to to get the seats I want, but when INXS came to town, I didn't have enough money to gets close enough. I wanted to be as close as I could to Michael. I thought that I would just go next time. Well, there wasn't a next time, and I am so mad at myself for not going anyway even if I had to sit in upper level.

When I sit here and read through the statements about Michael made by his family members and friends, I can really get a true sense of what a kind and loving person Michael was, but I feel like I knew that about him all along. They say that the eyes are the window to the soul, and Michael had kind eyes. Even looking into the his eyes on a poster, one can see that he was a good-natured and gentle person.

I have a four-year-old son who can sing the chorus of 5 different INXS songs. He actually loves their music; he is not just forced to listen to it because I do. He favorite songs are Kick and Bitter Tears. All the way to Palm Springs last weekend he shouted from his booster seat, “Play Kick. Play Kick.”

When I look at my son, I can't help but think about all that Michael is missing out on when it comes to his own daughter, Tiger, and what she is going to miss since she will never really now her father. I know Michael was is a different state of mind and was not thinking about that the day he took his own life, or he would not have done what he did. He didn't think about all he was going to leave behind, but Tiger is still a very lucky girl. She has Michael's family to love her and tell her all about her wonderful father.
